How I got my name…

My name, Ariana, is a spiritual name I took in my 30s. When I interviewed Riane Eisler recently for my Reclaiming The Wise Woman Elder – for the healing of Earth summit, I told her the story.

I told her because SHE was really responsible for me taking the name.

Her book, The Chalice and The Blade, was a transformational book for me. Reading about ancient European cultures that had worshipped the Great Goddess, in which women held power in equalitarian societies, and war was almost non-existent, was a revelation.

Learning her language of the Dominator paradigm vs. the Partnership paradigm was liberating and affirming.

We are not doomed by human nature to use violence! Cultures existed in our past where women and men were in partnership with each other and with our Earth! We can do it again, and even better.Continue Reading

Bypassing Ain’t Gonna Cut It

I’m so impressed with the women in The Wise Woman Immersion.

We had our second meeting today, and they are so beautifully authentic, so willing to dive in deep, and so open to what their souls are calling them into.

Healing The Soul Wounds We Carry

In The Wise Woman Immersion, we are healing the soul wounds we carry of being silenced, of being made small, of being unheard and unseen.

I haven’t been one to be silent.

I grew up in a large family where intense discussions (often loud) were normal.

But I still had the cultural stories about my voice as a woman.

The story that we don’t talk about being sexually harassed and/or assaulted.

The Missing Piece

She has an enormous depth of life experience and training.

She’s in transition from a nursing career to coaching and mentoring.

She’s in business coaching programs.

But she doesn’t feel truly seen, heard or appreciated in those programs as a spiritual being on a mission.

Reclaiming The Wise Woman Elder – Seesawing and Harmonizing

As I’m working on the Reclaiming The Wise Woman Elder – for the healing of Earth summit, I’m seesawing in between excitement and feeling like I’m fulfilling a big part of my mission – and feeling completely inadequate, overwhelmed, and hearing that voice that says, “Who am I to think I can do something this big?”

Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with my mind racing. Sometimes I get a lot done. Sometimes I get nothing done, and let myself get drawn down the rabbit hole of the internet.

This being human thing – it’s not always easy, is it?

Okay, I remind myself. Time to remember all the tools you’ve learned. Get regular meditations back into the schedule. Get outside and talk to the trees. Use your essential oils to get back to sleep. Reclaiming The Wise Woman Elder

One of my speakers for the Reclaiming The Wise Woman Elder summit told me a wonderful story.

She has been studying shamanism and sitting in circles with women from many cultures and traditions for years.

Many women in these circles realized they had been dreaming of each other – and that we are all receiving and carrying the same visions.

We are all being called to work together. There is no more time to hold sacred traditions tightly. It is time to bring our spirituality into the world, and yes, even into politics.

I’m not talking about bringing organized religion into politics. I’m talking about the underlying principles of spirituality – love and compassion, unity consciousness, the sacred nature of all life.Continue Reading
