I’ve been reading about and talking with friends and mentors about the men. I’ve been mostly working with, reading books by, and being mentored by women for many years.
There is so much to do to reclaim the divine feminine, and to restore the place of women in our cultures as fully respected partners of men. There has been so much deep wounding and silencing and shaming of women. So much devaluing and denigration of the feminine aspects of the divine – in our cultures and in our major religions. We have been deeply wounded.
And so have our men.
Spirit is calling me to work with men too, now. To help them heal from the ways in which their divine masculine nature has been distorted and suppressed and silenced and shamed. From the way they have been trained to dominate, rather than partner.
Here I am receiving the Ampulla Blessing of the divine mother from Diana Melchizedek at a recent retreat.
While she was giving these blessings, her husband stood guard over all of us as a sacred protector.
I was doubly blessed – by Diana, and by being in the presence of the Divine Masculine as Protector and Guardian of the Divine Feminine and of the Great Mother Goddess.
Michael Melchizedek is a shaman, himself – a powerful healer, and a strong and loving man. He is not diminished in any way by his service to the Great Mother, and to his wife as a Priestess.
This is what true partnership looks like between the divine feminine and the divine masculine. This is what human partnerships can look like when we heal ourselves.
We women don’t have to diminish ourselves in order to make men comfortable. Men, you don’t have to buy in to the old story that in supporting and honoring the divine feminine and all the women in your life that you are diminished, weak, or “less than manly.”
I just experienced the Divine Masculine in all his glory – and he was awesome.
Our cultural definition of “manly” is toxic. To all of us, and to our planet. Time to shift it.
