Reclaiming The Wise Woman Elder – Seesawing and Harmonizing

As I’m working on the Reclaiming The Wise Woman Elder – for the healing of Earth summit, I’m seesawing in between excitement and feeling like I’m fulfilling a big part of my mission – and feeling completely inadequate, overwhelmed, and hearing that voice that says, “Who am I to think I can do something this big?”

Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with my mind racing. Sometimes I get a lot done. Sometimes I get nothing done, and let myself get drawn down the rabbit hole of the internet.

This being human thing – it’s not always easy, is it?

Okay, I remind myself. Time to remember all the tools you’ve learned. Get regular meditations back into the schedule. Get outside and talk to the trees. Use your essential oils to get back to sleep. One of my speakers for the Reclaiming The Wise Woman Elder summit told me a wonderful story.

She has been studying shamanism and sitting in circles with women from many cultures and traditions for years.

Many women in these circles realized they had been dreaming of each other – and that we are all receiving and carrying the same visions.

We are all being called to work together. There is no more time to hold sacred traditions tightly. It is time to bring our spirituality into the world, and yes, even into politics.

The divine masculine needs healing, too

I’ve been reading about and talking with friends and mentors about the men. I’ve been mostly working with, reading books by, and being mentored by women for many years.

There is so much to do to reclaim the divine feminine, and to restore the place of women in our cultures as fully respected partners of men. There has been so much deep wounding and silencing and shaming of women. So much devaluing and denigration of the feminine aspects of the divine – in our cultures and in our major religions. We have been deeply wounded.

And so have our men.

Spirit is calling me to work with men too, now. To help them heal from the ways in which their divine masculine nature has been distorted and suppressed and silenced and shamed. From the way they have been trained to dominate, rather than partner.Continue Reading

What’s important now? Healing our shadow, said my spirit guides…

I went into meditation recently with the question for my Spirit guides – What information would be most useful for people now? Healing our shadow, they said.

Healing of the self. Honoring the shadow as part of the self. Gazing with love at the shadow is extremely important right now.

We must do that now within ourselves, and we must do that with those we consider the Other. Especially those whom we consider to hold entirely wrong beliefs.

They reminded us that those others see themselves as whole. That they see us as the Other. That the Other is Us. (Who remembers Pogo?)

They remind us the Shadow is also divine. The more we love and see clearly our shadow, the more love we have to see the shadow in others and to send love to that shadow. It is about bringing love into the darkness. To receive and send love in the darkness.

Send love. Send love inward and send love outward. Send love into all the dark places, and honor the dark, as you honor and love the light. It is necessary for balance.

Accepting and loving the shadow in the self leads to healing the collective shadow.

Yes, action is necessary, they said. Love also spurs us into action. When we act from love and compassion, when we act from this place of being in balance with our own shadow, we are much more effective. And we bring healing, and we bring understanding, and we bring our listening, and above all, we bring our love.

Refuse to hate in the face of what looks like hate to you. Remember, the others see you as the Other. Remember, the others are seeing you as the hate. Remember, the others are us. Remember, the other is you. Remember this. Remember.

Solstice! Let’s heal & celebrate

Dear ones –

It is the turning of the seasons – here in the Northern Hemisphere, we are turning from dark to light with the winter Solstice.

And what a fall it has been. For many of us, the election caused a traumatic disorientation. Many things we thought were true about our country and our society were proven wrong.

We have actually suffered a collective trauma.

How do we heal? Where do we go from here? How do we reconcile our deepest principles and beliefs with what is happening?

My meditation, spiritual practices and spiritual mentor have become EVEN MORE important now. Without them, I’d probably be in a deep depression. I hope you’re using your Continue Reading
